Details
In this case-based education session Michelle Evason, DVM, BSc, DACVIM, MRCVS will discuss zoonotic/One Health aspects of GI parasites such as Giardia, and some that may be overlooked, like the tapeworms Echinococcus multilocularis and the raccoon roundworm Baylisascaris procyonis. This session will review practical management of these parasites and others, update on emerging and evolving One Health risks, along with provide freely available evidence- and expert-based resources to help with preventive care, and pet-owner communication. Antimicrobial stewardship considerations as related to clinical management will be discussed.
