Advanced Arthroscopy – Stiffle Joint (EN)

This one-day practical course is designed for participants with basic arthroscopic experience. The focus will be given to the decision making, indications and limitations of arthroscopy in the canine stifle joint. The hands-on workshop will cover the establishment of the optic and working portal, orientation in the joint, visualization and assessment of critical structures, debridement, arthroscopic meniscal therapy, partial meniscectomy, and surgical therapy for Osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD) in the stifle joint.



Course schedule:

09:00-10:30 Theoretical introduction: “Arthroscopy of the knee joint”

10:45-11:00 Coffee break

11:00-12:30 Wet-Lab: Establishment of the optical and working port, visualization, debridement

12:30-13:30 Lunch break (lunch included)

13:30-17:30 Wet-Lab: Arthroscopic meniscal treatment – partial meniscectomy, OCD

17:30-17:45 Final discussion
