This two-day practical course covers the biomechanical principles and patient selection for being successful at performing TPLO. The practical part focuses on pre-operative radiographic assessment, planning, the medial approach to the stifle and proximal tibia (incl. mini-arthrotomy and joint evaluation) and each step of performing a TPLO procedure. Included is also pre- and postoperative radiographic assessment of the individual procedures.



Course schedule:

1 Day

09:00-10:45 Lecture: Biomechanical principles and case selection for TPLO

10:45-11:00 Coffee break

11:00-13:00 Wet-Lab: Preoperative planning and performing of the TPLO on saw bones

13:00-14:00 Lunch (included)

14:00-17:30 Wet-Lab: Medial approach and TPLO surgical technique on specimen



2 Day

09:00-10:45 Lecture: Miniarthrotomy, joint inspection, decision making, partial meniscectomy

10:45-11:00 Coffee break

11:00-13:00 Wet-Lab: Miniarthrotomy technique, joint inspection, partial meniscectomy

13:00-14:00 Lunch (included)

14:00-16:30 Wet-Lab: Medial approach and TPLO surgical technique on specimen

16:30-16:45 Wrap-up discussion
